CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The Organizers invite you to share your work on harmful algal blooms and submit an abstract.

  • Deadline to submit abstracts is on October 1, 2019

  • Download and use the Abstract Template HERE

  • Abstracts must be written in English

Presentation Types

  • ORAL
    • ​Presentations will be given 12 minutes plus 3 minutes for questions​​
    • Additional discussion and question time will be provided in the form of an Open Forum at the end of each session
  • RAPID FIRE​
    • Selected posters will be given 5 minutes to ​present their work in plenary
  • POSTER
    • Posters will be displayed all throughout the duration of the conference

ORAL PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

Keynote. Keynote speakers are allotted 40 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions.

Plenary. Plenary speakers are allotted 25 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions.

Contributed papers. Speakers are given 12 minutes plus 3 minutes for questions.

Rapid Fire. Rapid fire presenters are given 5 minutes

  • Please submit your presentation to the secretariat at least one session before the session you will speak at

  • Recommended slide size: Standard (4:3), Landscape

  • Recommend font size: no smaller than 24-28 pt. Use fonts that are available in Windows; otherwise they may not be supported by the computers at the conference. The computers will run MS PowerPoint 2016. The pre-installed font types available in MS PowerPoint 2016 should be used as standard font types.  If your presentation contains links to video files, place all audio and movie files linked with the presentation into a single file folder. Most video files types (e.g. .MP4, MPEG, .wmv, .AVI, Realvideo, Quicktime, Flash, etc.) are accepted. All videos linked to PowerPoint slides must be tested and checked in advance in the “slides drop off point” to be sure they will work properly.

POSTER PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

  • Posters must be in the A0 format measuring 841 × 1189 millimeters or 33.11 × 46.81 inches. PORTRAIT ORIENTATION ONLY
  • Please make sure that your posters have eyelets in each corner
  • Use your assigned poster number to know which poster board your poster will be placed.
  • Please mount the posters before the start of the conference. These will be displayed for the entire duration of the conference.
  • The secretariat will provide materials to help you put up your poster.
